Valplast Flexy Partials Q & A

What are Valplast® Flexible Partials?

Valplast® Flexible Partials are partial dentures – that is, dentures that replace only a few missing teeth rather than an entire row – that use a flexible, lightweight material and a proprietary design to provide a denture that is more comfortable and secure compared to traditional rigid dentures.

What are the benefits of a flexible denture?

Flexible dentures use the natural contours of the gums to achieve a more custom and more natural-feeling fit compared to traditional dentures, so they can be much more comfortable while they're being worn. The flexible grip provided by the material also helps avoid slippage for greater confidence while talking and eating, and because the material is lightweight, the risk of painful sore spots and subsequent infections is reduced. Valplast® Flexible Partials are metal-free and hypoallergenic, and the base material can be tinted to match the natural gum color of each patient so they are not noticeable while being worn.

Are Valplast® Flexible Partials hard to care for?

Not at all. In most cases, the denture can be cleaned simply by rinsing away food particles and residue. Valplast® Flexible Partials should not be cleaned with toothpaste since that can scratch the materials and dull the finish. When necessary, a soft brush without paste can be used to remove stubborn residue. The denture should be cleaned regularly with a cleaner made specifically for dentures. Complete care instructions will be provided at the final fitting appointment.

Are Valplast® Flexible Partials as strong as traditional dentures?

Yes, even though they are very lightweight, the flexible material is very durable – even more durable than the synthetic teeth it supports. Care should be taken to avoid dropping any dentures since the impact from a fall could damage the teeth. If a Valplast® Flexible Partial denture is damaged, it can be easily repaired and restored using the same type of special techniques used in the original fabrication.
